Abstract

This paper situates the De XII abusivis saeculi [DDAS] within the evolution of scriptural exegesis in seventh-century Ireland, paying particular attention to the De mirabilibus sacrae scripturae, the anonymous commentary on the catholic Epistles, and Cummian’s Penitential as well as to the Turonensis, an early version of Hibernensis as a legal code.
