Abstract

AbstractThis article illustrates current scholarly productions on European Romanticism and analyses the significance of a dialectical relation between literatures and cultures in the birth and development of European Romanticism. By analysing the works of August and Friedrich Schlegel, Germaine de Staël and Byron, the article aims to give a constructive overview of European Romanticism and of the British contribution to it.
