reduction; in the two surviving pairs attachment between twins was near the trilaminar/bilaminar yolk-sac wall border, consistent with the notion that survival depends upon an unencumbered trilaminar yolk-sac wall. By marking the normally transparent capsule, signs of contact in two day-16 pregnancies also showed that the yolk sac can move within the capsule, prompting speculation that conceptus ‘orientation’ at the time of fixation might also involve yolk-sac rotation within a fixed capsule.
