Abstract
In this chapter, the author draws on her experiences shifting from biologist to sociologist to question what can be learned when ideas, concepts, and methods are taken from one discipline to another, and how such shifts contribute to feminist science studies. To provide social context, she traces her transdisciplinary transformation from biologist to sociologist, and highlight turning points in her uneven career path. The author explains transdisciplinary transformations from biologist to sociologist allow her to include puzzle pieces from both science and the social world as integral to understanding a complete picture of technosciences in particular cultural and historical contexts. At one level, she also explains experience with blurring disciplinary boundaries taught me to value science not only as expert knowledge, but also as everyday knowledge, which can be taken into community-based contexts as a means to empower rather than limit people s actions.
