Abstract

In the following analysis, the human life course, micropolitics of dominant-subordinate relations, and phenomenological perspectives will be used to better understand marginality’ in the early socialization and career development of a black American sociologist. My graduate school education and tenure track experiences will be used as “data” through which a dialectical model of marginalization and human development can be formulated.
