Abstract
Abstract 1-Chlorovinyl sulfoxides, easily prepared from aldehydes and chloromethyl phenyl sulfoxides, were treated with t-butyllithium to afford one-carbon homologated acetylenes via alkylidene carbenoids in high yields.
