Abstract

It is shown that Friedel oscillations accompany the skin effect in a degenerate metal plasma. Friedel oscillations are found to associated with a peculiarity of the degenerate Fermi distribution (namely, its abrupt drop to zero immediately behind the Fermi surface). This leads to Friedel oscillations in the case of the anomalous skin effect. The diagrams of blurring of Kohn singularities are considered.
