Abstract

Frictional electrification was studied for LB films of stearic acid of which the uppermost layer was deposited on Y-type films by the horizontal lifting method. In these films, the carboxyl groups were expected to exist at the film/air interface. Though experimentally obtained films were not always ideal, it was clarified that the state of molecular aggregation, the species of atomic groups and the ratio of existence of atomic groups in the surface have an effect on the frictional electrification.
