Abstract
Hydrodynamic drag and velocity profiles are measured for turbulent flows of water solutions of surfactants, industrial metaupon pastes. The velocity field was measured with a laser Doppler anemometer. A formula is proposed for the velocity profile in the buffer zone of a flow with a maximum drag reduction for the hydrodynamic flow through adding surfactants.
