Abstract

Frequency-stabilized millimeter- and submillimeter-wave radio-over-fiber (RoF) signal generation is successfully demonstrated using an injection-locking laser with an optical frequency comb (OFC) source. A frequency-shifter-based OFC generator can easily provide a frequency-locked optical component with an available bandwidth of up to 1 THz. An injection-locking technique that uses this comb improves the signal-to-noise ratio of the RoF signal without any degradation of phase noise.
