Abstract

Time-space-frequency related transmit beampattern can be obtained by circulating coded MIMO radar. However, the existence of relative time delay between elements will cause transient interval problem. Therefore, avoiding transient interval problem and obtaining a time-space-frequency related transmit beampattern have become the interest of research. To solve this problem, a novel waveform analytic design method based on frequency-phase coded waveform is proposed. Firstly, the relationship between parameters set of frequency-phase coded waveform and the instantaneous beampattern of MIMO radar is derived. Then, the analytical solution for parameters of frequency-phase coded waveform is provided for arbitrary transmit beampattern synthesis based on such relationship. The transmit beampattern obtained is still time-space-frequency related. The computational burden of this method is negligible. Simulation results demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method.
