Abstract

Crosstie-overlay slow-wave transmission lines are used in a traveling-wave antenna array to reduce the circuit size. Series connection of the antenna radiation elements and transmission lines makes the antenna integratable. These two properties make the antenna suitable for microwave monolithic integrated circuit (MMIC) elements. The measured radiation pattern is shown to agree with the calculated pattern. The antenna's frequency-scanning feature is demonstrated. >
