Abstract
Search coil magnetometer is widely used in Magnetotellurics (MT) to measure weak magnetic field. In our design, magnetic feedback is used to flatten the frequency response near the resonance. We proposed a new model to investigate the system frequency response. Feedback coil was used in this new model to provide known external magnetic field. Theoretical and simulated transfer function is proposed. This model is more convenient to investigate the transfer characteristic than the traditional model, which needs to provide a large cylindrical coil. Measured transfer characteristic was found to agree well with the simulated result.
