Abstract

A novel IR-UWB receiver architecture, in which all signals are processed in frequency domain (FD), is proposed in this paper. The proposed scheme achieves an A/D converting speed as low as pulse repeating rate (PRR) by frequency domain sampling method. All of the frequency domain signal processing algorithms, including frame synchronization, channel estimation and decision, are also introduced in this paper. The simulation results show that the proposed frequency domain receiver scheme only has 1 dB performance loss compared with ideal coherent receiver with much lower sampling rate and processing complexity.
