P134 FREQUENCY DEPENDENT ANISOTROPY IN POROUS ROCKS WITH PENNY-SHAPED CRACKS Abstract 1 Saturated porous rocks with aligned fractures exhibit frequency dependent seismic anisotropy due to wave induced fluid flow between pores and fractures. To model this frequency dependent anisotropy we combine a low frequency anisotropic Gassmann model with a frequency dependent fluid factor proposed by Hudson et al. (1996). Our combined frequency dependent model predicts the elastic properties of saturated porous rocks with aligned penny-shaped cracks using a single continuous frequency function and is consistent with well known results in both the high and low frequency limits.
