Abstract

Recently, introduction of renewable energy power sources with less environmental load like wind power generation or photovoltaic power generation have been promoted from the viewpoint of environmental problems. However, renewable energy power supplies have unstable output due to the influence of weather conditions such as wind conditions, which may cause voltage and frequency fluctuations in the power system. This paper proposes the coordinated control of HVDC line and battery using fuzzy PD based virtual inertia control to restrain frequency fluctuations in power system caused by fluctuating output of renewable energy power supply.
