Abstract

For the islanded smart grid, renewable energy is considered as the large power generation, and among all the RES Solar PV generation is cost effective and is widely used. So the generated power from Solar is a major factor that influences the grid stability. The imbalance between power generations and power consumptions is happened regularly, and it leads to continuous frequency variation in the grid. So this paper mainly focuses on the control of power flow from solar to grid based on the change in grid frequency that is if the load demand in the grid is greater than that of power generation, grid frequency gets decreased below 50Hz and based on this change in frequency the extra power demand is supplied from solar to the grid to make grid frequency back to 50Hz. The power transfer from Solar PV to grid is controlled by controlling the angle between inverter voltage and grid voltage that is the phase angle or the power angle. This proposed control is achieved by SPWM technique and Fuzzy logic controller. The system simulation is realized by using MATLAB/ Simulink software.
