Abstract
A modal analysis scheme is developed for systems with frequency dependent parameters which are assumed to be well represented by even order polynomials. The systems with frequency dependent parameters are transformed into equivalent systems with real constant parameters which give rise to identical frequency response matrices. Two example problems are considered in order to investigate the dynamic characteristics of the systems with frequency dependent parameters by using the proposed method.
