Abstract

The paper deals with free vibration analysis of a sandwich panel with CFRP laminate faces. The material characteristics of unidirectional laminated fiber reinforced composite is obtained from homogenization procedure for periodic microstructure. The Shear Deformation Theory is considered for theoretical analysis. Finite element method is used for numerical analysis. The effect of fiber orientation to the global coordinate system on the fundamental frequency is obtained by analytical and numerical form. Numerical solution of natural frequencies for sandwich with [0]3 and [0/90/0] CFRP faces is investigated. Fundamental frequency versus thickness for sandwich with [0]3 and [0/90/0] CFRP faces is obtained by numerical and analytical solution. Natural frequencies of sandwich panel versus sandwich design parameters are presented in graphical form.
