Abstract
ABSTRACTThis study estimated the total factor productivity, efficiency, and technological changes of nuclear energy-generating plants of Électricité de France (EDF), by means of a directional measure with undesirable outputs. The aim of this procedure was to seek out those best practices that lead to improved performance in the French nuclear energy sector. The results over the 2004–2008 period indicated that several plants have experienced a productivity growth while others have experienced a productivity regress. Policy implications related to the results are discussed.
