Discusses the adoption of FMS by the French armaments industry in the face of smaller orders, an increasingly competitive market and worn out machinery. Summarises the control hierarchy for the adopted FMS and operational aspects of the system. Concludes that FMS offers benefits in human terms, such as working conditions, in addition to productivity and cost benefits.
