Abstract

Abstract. Chemotherapy has contributed to the occurrence of the various causes of malnutrition. This study was conducted to determine the effect of chemotherapy on the decline in the frequency of nutrient intake and nutritional status in patients with breast cancer in the treatment of class III Sanglah Hospital in Denpasar. This type of research is an observational study with cross sectional approach. Sampling is done by using a consecutive sampling technique, the amount required is sampel 40 people.The results showed this study after statistical test frequency relationship chemotherapy with energy intake obtained p value is 0.026 (p 0.05) so that it can be said that there is a significant relationship between the frequency of chemotherapy with energy intake of breast cancer patients. Chemotherapy-frequency relationship with protein intake obtained p value is 0.001 (p 0.05) so that it can be said that there is a significant relationship between the frequency of chemotherapy with protein intake of breast cancer patients. Chemotherapy -frequency relationship with fat intake obtained p value is 0.427 ( p 0.05 ) so that it can be said that there is no significant relationship between the frequency of chemotherapy with fat intake of breast cancer patients. Frequency relationship chemotherapy with p values obtained carbohydrate intake is 0.000 ( p 0.05 ) so that it can be said that there is a significant relationship between the frequency of chemotherapy with carbohydrate intake of breast cancer patients. Relationship with the frequency of intake of Vitamin A chemotherapy obtained p value is 0.287 ( p 0.05 ) so that it can be said that there is no significant relationship between the frequency of intake of Vitamin A chemotherapy with breast cancer patients . Frequency relationship chemotherapy with vitamin C intake obtained p value is 0.541 ( p 0.05 ) so that it can be said that there is no significant relationship between the frequency of intake of vitamin C with chemotherapy in patients with breast cancer . Frequency relationship chemotherapy with vitamin E intake obtained p value is 0.006 ( p 0.05 ) so that it can be said that there is a significant relationship between the frequency of chemotherapy with intake of vitamin E in patients with breast cancer . Chemotherapy -frequency relationship to the nutritional status obtained p value is 0.165 ( p 0.05 ) so that it can be said that there is no significant relationship between the frequency of chemotherapy and nutritional status of breast cancer patients . Need to do further research on the factors - other factors affecting nutrient intake and nutritional status of breast cancer patients.
