Abstract

This study presents a computational simulation of a jet in a turbulent cross flow and investigates the effects of varying turbulence intensity and length scale on the main characteristics of jet-flow. The results from the simulations are compared with the experimental data and pre-requisites for modelling such flow realistically are discussed. In particular, the implications of turbulence modelling on the simulated flow-fields near field and downstream are discussed.
