Abstract

A linear analysis is presented for determining the natural frequen cies of vibration of laminated anisotropic rectangular plates. The plate may consist of an arbitrary number of thin orthotropic layers, the major material-symmetry axis of each layer oriented arbitrarily with respect to the longer plate edge. An approximate solution is obtained by the Rayleigh-Ritz energy method. Numerical results are presented for fully clamped boundary conditions and compared with experimental results for symmetrically and unsymmetrically laminated plates.
