Abstract

This paper proposes a unified analytical technique for free vibration of composite plates using symbolic algebra software. The Galerkin method with the combination of symbolic algebra software is used to manipulate polynomials that satisfy any given boundary conditions for the composite plate. The matrix elements to calculate natural frequencies are generated automatically retaining all the relevant parameters; thus, this method is particularly suitable for sensitivity analysis.
