Abstract
A simple numerical method using the Rayleigh-Ritz principle is presented for computing the natural frequencies and mode shapes of cylindrical polygonal ducts constructed from composite materials. The duct creases are assumed to be parallel to one of the principal axes of orthotropy. Numerical results are presented for triangular and square cylindrical ducts with various degrees of orthotropy.
