Abstract

FOLKESON, D. 1984. Free segregation between a (3S-7S) interchange and genes within linkage group VII in Pisum sativum.—Hereditas 101:227–233. Lund, Sweden. ISSN 0018–0661. The (3S-7S) interchange line ‘Merton 1’, (Wsp, ra, Tl, bt), was crossed to a R?, Brand to a wsp, r/ line, both of normal karyotype. 463 and 280 F2 plants were scored in the crosses, respectively. The T-point of the interchange line did not show linkage to any of these markers, which were previously presumed to belong to linkage group VII. This result is new evidence that, at the present time, only six linkage groups are known for the seven chromosomes. This hypothesis was first published by Lamm 1951 (Hereditas 37: 356–372).
