Abstract
Frontal polymerization entails theconversion of a monomer into a polymer via a localizedexothermic reaction zone that propagates through thecoupling of thermal diffusion and Arrhenius reactionkinetics. Frontal polymerization was discovered in Rus-sia by Chechilo and Enikolopyan in 1972 using methylmethacrylate under high pressure.
