Abstract

This paper is concerned with the stability of switched systems with unstable subsystems under a novel switching signal. By establishing the free-quasi-alternative switching signal where switches are admissible between any two subsystems, the global exponential stability of the switched system is discussed. Compared with stability criteria under the quasi-alternative switching signal, switches among unstable subsystems are allowable, and the restriction that all unstable subsystems should reside for short is relaxed. The stability results are more general and less conservative in this paper, which is illustrated with a numerical example.
