Abstract

An approximate solution procedure based on the Kärman-Pohlhausen integral relation is proposed for the analysis of the steady free convection boundary layer over a nonisothermal body of arbitrary shape embedded in a fluid-saturated porous medium. The effects of the viscous dissipation on heat transfer rates were investigated upon considering the viscous dissipation term in the energy equation. It is shown that the viscous dissipation results in lowering the level of the heat transfer rate.
