Abstract

This contribution describes a free computer-aided control system design (CACSD) tool for the numerical computing environment GNU Octave which is mostly compatible with Matlab. The software is ready for both industrial and academic use and serves as a foundation for people who are interested in the development of CACSD tools. The tool's features being presented in this article are system identification, system analysis and controller synthesis with a special focus on H ∞ methods. Furthermore, advanced frequency-weighted model and controller reduction capabilities are demonstrated which are beyond the scope of MATLAB.
