Abstract
La dialectología es subdisciplina que tiene su propia metodología y fundamentos, con un considerable acervo de datos sobre la variación, especialmente fonética (segmental) y léxica, tal como recogen numerosos Atlas Lingüísticos. Otros niveles del lenguaje quedaron sin embargo muy rezagados. Así, la prosodia tuvo que esperar hasta el siglo XXI para tener su primer Atlas, gracias al reciente proyecto internacional AMPER, todavía en curso. La otra área es la fraseología, que también ha tenido que esperar a trabajos muy recientes.
