Abstract
Prominent French orientalist, professor of College de France Frantz Grenet made an exceptional contribution to the study of the ancient and medieval history of Central Asia. Professor F. Grenet has been promoting international scientific cooperation for a long time, including cooperation between France and Russia. The election of Professor F. Grenet as a full member of the French Academy of Inscriptions and Belles-Lettres is highly significant event for the world oriental studies.
