Abstract
AbstractOver the past decade, one of the most remarkable advances in tall building design has been their construction to unprecedented slenderness ratios. In this paper, the authors review some of the basic and innovative structural framing arrangements that have been found from first‐hand experience to be particularly appropriate to so‐called ‘sliver’ buildings. Also, case studies of four landmark New York City buildings are presented in which some of these framing concepts have been applied.
