Abstract
Fragment angular distributions have been measured for electron- and positron-induced fission of 232Th in the energy range 8–16 MeV. The quite different angular distribution patterns for electron and positron bombardments are compared with photofission data to test recently calculated virtual photon spectra for E11 and E2 excitations of heavy nuclei in electron- and positron-induced electrodisintegration experiments.
