Abstract

To the Editor. —Christopher's valuable case report of fracture of the head of the femur1in the May issue has been read with interest, most especially the careful survey made of the literature. He states that reports of only fourteen previous cases were found, and he adds one, concluding that this is a rare injury. We did not realize that this was the case, as two instances of this injury have come under the observation and care of one of us (C. W. P.). The apparent rarity of the lesion, however, would seem to warrant putting these two cases also on record. The second of these patients was admitted to the orthopedic division of the Henry Ford Hospital a little more than a year ago and was treated by the other author, whose detailed report on this patient appears here.
