Abstract

Crack propagation in polymethylmethacrylate has been investigated experimentally under shock loading conditions generated by a pulse magnetic field. Using microstructural investigations, dynamic fracture surfaces of polymethylmethacrylate were analyzed and compared depending on the distance from the notch tip. A diagram of various fracture types depending on the pulse loading duration has been constructed.
