Abstract

This paper presents a design of the fractional-order oscillator utilizing one Fractional-Order Capacitor (FOC) in its structure. The oscillator employs one FOC and two active elements referred to as Dual Controlled Transconductance Amplifiers (DCTAs) with electronically adjustable transconductance and also current gain. The proposed circuit provides two voltage outputs and was tested with three different values of the order. In this paper, the tuning range of Frequency of Oscillation (FO) is analysed. With the help of two independent controllable parameters of the used active elements, the FO is tuned in the extended range. This solution provides the ratio between lowest and highest value of FO equal to 71.5. To verify the proper function of the designed circuit, the PSpice simulations with behavioural models of the used active elements were carried out.
