Abstract

Separately excited DC (SEDC) motors are extensively used in industrial applications as they have most demanding speed-torque characteristics. Speed control of separately excited DC (SEDC) motor using Fuzzified PID controller (FPID) based on LabVIEW is presented in this paper. The linear system model of separately excited SEDC motor is used for simulation purpose. The Fuzzy PID controller (FPID) is implemented using PID and Fuzzy Logic simulation toolkits of the LabVIEW environment. The designed self-tuned FPID controller realize a good speed tracking with lesser rise time and settling time and minimum steady state error and gives better performance as compared to conventional PID controller and fuzzy logic controller.
