Abstract

Gamma radiation is used for several therapeutic indications such as cancers and autoimmune diseases via up-regulating Treg cells. Low-dose whole body gamma irradiation activates immune responses in several ways, although high-dose IR is harmful. However, its effect and mechanism on allergic asthma remains poorly understood, except to report that irradiation may exacerbate allergic asthma. This study aimed to investigate whether IR exacerbates allergic asthma responses or not, and its mechanism.
