Abstract
Abstract Measurements of the fourth and first sound velocities near the superfluid transition temperature at several pressures in 4 He show that the error in the amplitude of the superfluid fraction ϱ s /ϱ derived from second sound velocities is not more than 3% and too small to explain apparent departures from two-scale-factor universality along the λ-line.
