Abstract

The review shows that the use of the principles of synergetics and of the fractal theory makes it possible to outline further ways of development of the interdisciplinary materials science on the basis of universality of behavior of physical and biological systems. Realization of these possiblities requires further consolidation of scientists working at higher educational, research, and academic institutes. It is mentioned in the resolution of the symposium that the most promising solution of the task will be the creation of an interdisciplinary research center for studying nanomaterials at the A. A. Baikov Institute for Metallurgy and Materials Science of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
