  • Fournier’s gangrene was defined as on idiopathic entity, but now-a-days, it is accepted as the disease of either perineal or genital skin infections

  • A scoring system (Fournier’s gangrene severity index) was developed by Laor et al to quantify the severity of infection, using common vital signs and laboratory data[7]

  • The Fournier’s gangrene severity index (FGSI) was compared to final outcome showed statistically significant difference. (t=2.24, p=0.03)
