Abstract

Equations are obtained for the Fourier components of the time variation of light intensity in the farfield of a Gaussian light beam that has passed through a thin progressive ultrasonic wave located at the light beam waist. Some results of calculations of central intensity are shown for Gaussian beam waist diameter equal to and less than the ultrasonic wavelength.
