Abstract

ABSTRACT Four new species of ostracodes from North Queensland, Eurypylus pulcher, Chelicopia lorica, Chelicopia squameospinosa, and Nealella queenslandensis, representing both subfamilies of the Sarsiellidae are described and illustrated. The term burr is introduced to describe a narrow ridge located on the mandibular claws of female and juvenile male specimens. The Bellonci organ of the genus Eurypylus is illustrated. Minute pores are recorded on the lateral base of the c- and f-bristles of the sarsiellid first antennae.
