Abstract

Local gauge invariance is discussed purely at the operator level in the manifestly covariant canonical formalism of the non-abelian gauge theory. In spite of the presence of gauge fixing, it is shown that local gauge transformations are faithfully represented in a certain four-dimensional commutation relation.
