Abstract
The construction of optimal ternary cyclic codes has received a lot of attention and much progress has been made. However, little is known about optimal quinary cyclic codes. In this letter, four classes of infinite families of optimal quinary cyclic codes with parameters $[{5^{m}-1, 5^{m}-2m-2, 4}]$ are presented.
