Abstract

The aim is to understand constituent elements of photographs as archival documents of secondary value, based on the analysis of documentary and cultural practices that focus on the production of the archival fond within the scope of the extension program 'Entre Comunidades’ . The methodological procedures adopted correspond to bibliographical, documentary and archival research to meet the objective. It is evident that archival values are constituent elements of photographs as archival documents of secondary value, associating them with documentary practices, memory activation and cultural mediation. It was concluded that photography has cultural values, notably aesthetic or formal value, being the object of cultural mediation.
