Abstract

Purpose: The manuscript tries to align three pivotal concepts, namely dual career couples, work life balance & motivation. Ideating and emphasizing the need for organizations to implement, monitor and evaluate the visible presence and sufficiency of work-life balance policies so that the personnel (dual career couples) can benefit more from the organization and their satisfaction level increases towards their career and workplace. Methodology: a) Population or Universe: - The sample for the study consists of informal groups in Delhi/NCR, India. b) Sampling technique: - The area of this research study is Delhi-NCR. The study pattern will be of randomly selected sample using non-probabilistic convenience sampling technique within the population selected. c) Sample size: - The explored target is 500 samples tentatively from area of the population in the present study. d) Questionnaire design: Self-structured questionnaire was formulated, pre-tested and then applied to gather information with the aim to solve the explored problem. Also, an exploratory research method has been undertaken within the field of work-life balance and well-renowned motivational theories. A comprehensive review of classic and contemporary theories of motivation has been undertaken in order to justify the need for dual career couples in order to foster work-life balance. Findings: The existing research study concluded that that there is a significant association between motivation and work-life balance of dual career couples. Motivation helps Dual-career couples to move from being independent to interdependent individuals towards both careers and personal life. Research Limitation: Scope of the research work is wider but sample size is limited to 500 samples and NCR/Delhi region only. The following study covers only Delhi/NCR region, the results may vary from one location to another.
