Abstract

Foster care is the key to good harmonious development, an alternative for unwanted children of this country to live in a harmonious environment. Social workers and psychologists are the pieces of resistance within placement centers that make adoptions possible. Our article brings into the focus the need to ensure the legal framework necessary to protect and promote the rights of the child by assigning this task to the legislator in the field of civil law, highlighting the importance of compliance with the relevant legal norms by all those involved in the adoption procedure, this being based on a form of moral responsibility. Our research aims to identify the normative elements to help the understanding and practical development of the adoption institution, by referring it to the provisions of the Romanian civil law and the European norms regulating the very wide field of children’s rights.
